Jaemi Hubo (KAIST)

Since early 2000, KAIST’s Hubo lab has been developing a complex and sophisticated humanoid robot: Hubo.  Early on, this humanoid distinguished itself by being lighter and cheaper than competing robots such as the ASIMO, HRP-2, and Sarcomann.  Prof. JunHo Oh, who leads the Hubo team, has introduced their robot to presidents, business leaders, and technical conferences around the world.

In October of 2008, KAIST completed a version of the Hubo for the PIRE Team.  Named Jaemi Hubo (“American Hubo”), this new design is capable of impressive feats such as running 4 kph, climbing stairs and performing Tai Chi.
